Volunteer with us

Become a volunteer

Soma Kwa Furaha Volunteer Projects are unique program that connects people from around the world with local projects and communities in Tanzania. The program offers a powerful vision built on our belief that volunteers have a vital role to play in development and in building a more just and sustainable world society.

We offer an opportunity to work as a volunteer, experience different cultures, meet people from different countries, learn new or improve skills, take part in peace making and hands-on on various community based development projects.

Why choose us?

Volunteers with Some Kwa Furaha Initiative will get the benefit of cultural exchange, including the chance to tour tribal areas, meet the people and experience their traditional way of life. Through the programmes and projects, volunteers can also experiences indigenous attractions and scenery of rural Tanzania.

For the Traveller who wants to meet fishermen, cultivators, local minors, wildlife scouts, rainmakers and story-tellers, the land between Serengeti and Lake Victoria is the place to be. Our organization is in Mwanza Region and neighbouring regions are Geita to the west, Shinyanga to the south, and Simiyu to the east.

Furthermore, Lake Victoria borders the region’s northern frontier, thus a traveller will be able to get a chance to learn the local culture, and language and even learn how to prepare different foods that have a natural Tanzanian.

There is also opportunity to take a boat trip in the Victoria zone. We will also be able to connect travellers to our partners who are tourist companies to visit many different tourist attractions.

Inclusive education project

Disability among children in Tanzanian society is largely hidden. Children with non-physical disabilities are not identified and included in conventional development programming. We have been supporting 43 children with disabilities at the Ilemela center. A recent rapid study here identified over 120 children with disabilities requiring early intervention in the two operational districts of Ilemela and Nyamagana.

Help us to empower & change women's life in Mwanza Tanzania!

SKFI believes that women empowerment is the only way that women can determine and recreate what it is that they can be, to accomplish their full potential in circumstances where this was previously denied. Consequently, SKFI came up with this program to give women the ability to enjoy their right to use and benefit from the resources, assets, income and their own time, as well as the ability to manage risk and improve their socio-economic status.

Sexual and Reproductive Health with Adolescents and Young People

Access to sexual and reproductive health services enables people to exercise this right. It can take the form of medical care related to the reproductive system, for example, to treat a sexually transmitted infection or the facilitation of reproductive autonomy with the provision of contraception and abortion care.
