Soma Kwa Furaha is a Swahili phrase that translates to “Read with joy” in English. It is an encouragement to approach reading with a sense of happiness, enthusiasm, and enjoyment.

This phrase highlights the idea that reading should be a pleasurable and fulfilling activity, emphasizing the positive emotions and satisfaction that can be derived from engaging with books and other written materials.

Join us as a volunteer

Soma Kwa Furaha offers a range of volunteer opportunities giving you the chance to get involved in local communities, experience our culture and learn new skills. We offer a chance to get hands on supporting the local community via projects centred around outreach, education and empowerment.

 We are partnered with local schools and can offer teaching placements in a range of subjects. We are also always on the lookout for volunteers who can help with grant or proposal writing and digital media.
